Sneak Preview! The Next Cool Event 2012 Goes Southern Gothic

By: Architectural Visions

Although details are still Top Secret, we have some insider gossip about The Next Cool Event coming in early 2012. AVI is a proud sponsor of one of only two performing stages to be displayed among scores to TV and film themed sets displayed at the Next Cool Thing Event. Last year this event drew thousands to view performances, enjoy food tastings, and tour TV sets collaboratively created by Atlanta’s design, building, performing arts, television, and film communities. AVI proudly supplied the Marvin windows and doors used in the 2011 Beverly Hillbillies Mansion of the 21st Century TV set, complete with French Doors with a view to the cee-ment pond!

Rumor has it that this year’s theme, based on John Berendt’s southern gothic bestseller Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, will include an ethereal feel that places visitors in the garden with the surrounding Savannah homes represented with Marvin windows and doors, again donated by AVI. Producer, designer and AVI friend, Barbara English will be collaborating with AVI consultant Heather Elsberry, designer Margaret L.Norcott, cast members from the Atlanta Opera, landscape architects and builders to be announced. Their goal: to top last years’ success.
