AVIew: What is your design philosophy?
M.L.N. “At University of Florida, we learned early on from architect Frank Lloyd Wright that ‘Less Is More.’ Without ever knowing of this saying I have lived by this motto since my childhood. It is built into every project I work on, even in the fullest of full interiors, Less Is More and everyone always needs to ‘edit, edit, edit.’”
AVIew: How can good design improve a homeowner’s life or enhance their lifestyle?
M.L.N. “Good design should reflect the thought process a designer and their client have put into the project. To me, good design means every layer that goes into a project has been thought about, examined from every aspect (and view) and the best solution implemented for the clients enjoyment. This process aids all parties in making sure the client has the best design possible.”
AVIew: Besides curb appeal, how do windows and doors play an important role in home design?
M.L.N. “Windows and doors are more than just a functional element on a structure. Windows and doors are also a very important decorative element as well. They compliment the architectural details (and landscape) to create a complete visual for the eye.”
